Checking Up On Your Contractor

There are many contractors who specialize in building Hill County custom homes, and almost all of them will try to impress you with fancy credentials and lots of promises. Don’t just believe everything you hear, however. Be smart and do your research on any contractor before you hire him or her. You can start by asking to see a contractor’s license. If he or she doesn’t have one, run for the hills! Any good contractor will gladly provide you with a professional license. What’s more is that, by asking to see the license, you let the contractor know you are smart and in-the-know and not one to be jerked around.

It’s also a smart idea to ask your contractor for references. Your contractor  should easily be able to provide you with a list of people for whom he or she has built Hill County custom homes in the past. Again, don’t just take this list at face value. Actually call those references and make sure everything checks out!
